STRONG SPIRIT

Intrusive Thoughts

The uninvited companions of our minds

The tireless thieves that rob us blind

Of our sleep and the sliver of peace we find

Our brains forward but also repeatedly rewind

Analysing every word spoken

Terrified of silence, we're broken

Afraid to be alone again, our fears unspoken

In our heads, a war is constantly persisting

In society, countless challenges needing

Our attention, strength and our sanity

Should we stand and fight or is it safer fleeing?

We put on a brave face and hide our interior

Battling two worlds does not make us superior

But we stand and fight because we choose to love

We are a strong spirit, we are warriors
